WTA will be closed on November 24 so staff can enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. Will you join us?

Now in its third year, the #OptOutside movement started by REI in 2015 is still going strong. #OptOutside began with REI shuttering its doors on Black Friday, deciding to try something a little different and provide a way for their employees to go outside with their friends and loved ones. In that same spirit, Washington Trails Association will also #OptOutside and close our doors for the day on Friday, November 24.

We talked with a few WTA staffers to find out why the outdoors is important to them and what benefits they receive from trails. See what they had to say in the video below.

Like you, we love the outdoors and the trails that Washington has to offer. We also know how important it is to be a part of the effort to protect these places and share the joy of nature with everyone in Washington. As an organization, we believe that being outdoors has a positive impact on people’s lives, and our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to outdoor opportunities.

We hope you're able to #OptOutside on Friday with us. See you on the trail!

Planning to get outside on Friday? Washington's state parks are waiving their entry fees so you can enjoy a trail near you.
