Washington is well-known for containing a major portion of the famous 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail — but did you know there's another National Scenic Trail traversing our state?
Washington is well-known for containing a major portion of the famous 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail — but did you know there's another National Scenic Trail traversing our state?
The 1,200-mile Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) crosses over Washington from the foggy shores of the Olympic Coast to the golden mountains of the Kettle Range, continuing on to the snow-drenched peaks of Glacier National Park. The PNT encompasses some of the west’s most idyllic landscapes, traversing a total of 3 states, 7 national forests, 3 national parks, and 6 wilderness areas.
An 80-mile stretch of the PNT, known as the Boundary Trail, has been hit hard by catastrophic wildfires and a lack of trail funding over the past decade, limiting hiker accessibility across its entirety — and causing it to nearly disappear. As a part of our Lost Trails Found campaign, we've made it a priority to help restore this section of the PNT to a sustainable and hiker-friendly condition — enabling thru-hikers to keep on hiking.
If you haven't yet experienced the beauty of the PNT yourself, we wanted to share a peek into what the trail has to offer and get you dreaming of your summer adventures, wherever they may be.

Follow along from east to west as we traverse the PNT.
