Posted by Loren D at May 12, 2015 05:24 PM |

Explore the trails and changing landscape of trails around Mount St. Helens using a new guidebook: Day Hiking Mount St. Helens, published by Mountaineers Books.

It has been 35 years since Mount St. Helens' eruption. There is no better way to understand the changing landscape around the monument than by exploring its trails in person.

In the latest edition of the excellent Day Hiking series from Mountaineers Books, guidebook authors Craig Romano and Aaron Theisen (also a member of WTA's board) have paired up to deliver a comprehensive guide to 80 trails ranging from easy nature and interpretive trails to isolated backcountry routes.

Share your Mount St. Helens hiking experiences

When you take the new book out hiking, make sure to share you experiences with the rest of the hiking community. File trip reports on hike highlights, trail conditions or road closures. Give back to your fellow hikers by letting them know when wildflowers are peaking, mosquitoes are biting or if they can expect to see any great wildlife.
