About Meander Meadows
The location of the trip base camp doesn't get any better. The headwaters of the Little Wenatchee River originate from the meadows where you will be camped. Small trout spend their days darting about the small stream that forms in the Meadow.
Just a short jaunt from your camp is Kodak Peak, where you can check out Glacier Peak in all it's glory to the north. To the west is Cady Ridge, and far off in the south you can perhaps catch a view of Mt Rainier.
WTA packs in all your food and does all the cooking on volunteer vacations, so you'll have plenty of time to kick back and take in the views. The crew leaders always give you a day off, too, so you can explore this amazing valley. Ramble along a ridge and find a high mountain lake or two that invites a quick swim.
The work is along a section of the Pacific Crest Trail that has not received the attention it deserves for many years. Years of use and neglect have narrowed the trail to barely a foot wide in locations, and WTA needs your help to get it into to shape. The views while working are nothing short of spectacular.
