Hurricane Ridge renovation: The Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center will be receiving $8.2 Million for extensive renovations. The structure was last renovated in 1983 and is in bad need of repairs. The work is expected to start in 2023 and wrap up by 2024 with the building closed to visitors from spring 2023 to spring 2024.
State Parks survey: Washington State Parks is planning ahead and they would love your feedback. They have a survey open now until February 15 where you can share your thoughts about their storytelling and services to help state parks better serve visitors in the future. Take the survey to make sure your voice counts.
Six more weeks of winter: On Groundhog Day we all got the long-awaited forecast of six more weeks of winter. It’s a good reminder to prepare for winter conditions if you’re heading out for a hike, but to truly be prepared, there are a few other forecasts you might want to check first.
Volunteers needed for Olympic committee: Volunteers are needed to serve on the Olympic National Forest Resource Advisory Committee. Members of the committee serve for four years reviewing and recommending projects that are beneficial to the forest.
