It's April 23. We have a toolkit to help you speak up for the trails you love. While you can't visit in person, you can still celebrate National Park Week. And we're helping your cabin fever with our calendar of virtual events.

It's April 23. We have a toolkit to help you speak up for the trails you love. While you can't visit in person, you can still celebrate National Park Week. And we're helping your cabin fever with our calendar of virtual events.

Here's some hiker news you might have missed while out on trail this week.

Help trails while staying home: We’re here to make it easier for you to help the trails you love. Learn more about how to speak up for public lands with our Advocate Toolkit! We have guidance for how to contact your elected officials, attend virtual meetings, write letters to the editor and more!

Celebrate National Park Week! “For National Park Week, we want to help people ‘parked’ at home,” said Chip Jenkins, Mount Rainier National Park’s superintendent. You can enjoy the park through a virtual visit. There are options for kids, parents and teachers. Whether you enjoy scenery, science or history, there’s something for you. Follow @MountRainierNPS on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr to contribute to the celebration. Here’s the rest of the schedule:

  • Thursday, April 23: Throwback Thursday
  • Friday, April 24: Friendship Friday
  • Saturday, April 25: Park Rx Day
  • Sunday, April 26: Bark Ranger Day

And, while parks are on your mind, take a look back at some of our favorite projects we've done in national parks.

Keep connected: Are you feeling a bit restless, cooped up at home? While we can't hang out in person, we're keeping our calendar of hiker events up-to-date with virtual events
