This month WTA is working in several locations that need some special attention, and we'd love to have your help! Join us for a day full of safety, fun, and work, and make your mark on the trails you love.

No experience is needed to join a work party, and anyone is welcome. We'll teach you what you need to know and find the right job for you. For more information on what to expect when you join us on trail, check out our FAQ page.

Puget Sound - O'Grady Park

March 3-7, 10-14

O'Grady Park provides a unique retreat only a few miles east of the heavily populated Green River valley around Auburn. Venturing here, hikers get a sense of a wilder river, with little noticeable human impact. A plethora of flora and fauna call the Green River Natural Area home, and many locals and visitors use the trails for hiking, biking, fishing, and horseback riding.

The main trails at O'Grady are about two miles in length, and are in need of some WTA love. Volunteers can expect to work on trail rehabilitation, reroutes, and finishing a new trail that follows the bluff along the river.

WTA has a long history working in this gorgeous park that borders north Puget Sound. We're doing general maintenance, including improving drainage in places where the tread is muddy, as well as possible trail realignment. You could also learn a little something about building structures and the importance of clearing trail corridor.

Southwest Washington - Lacamas Park

WTA is cleaning and replacing waterbars on the Round Lake loop, and restoring another trail leading to Woodburn Falls. The park contains six scenic miles of hiking trails, as well as fishing and birdwatching. Come help keep the trails here looking nice; it's a short hike to our project site with a couple of steep pitches.

Eastern Washington - Knothead Trail

March 29

Come help route this trail off private land and onto state and county property. The reroute incorporates great viewpoints overlooking the Little Spokane River, so you'll have nice vistas while you work on improving tread and get some experience with rock work. We got a good start here last fall and are excited to have some fun this spring.
