Hiking Couple Files 100 Trip Reports (So Far) in 2012

Posted by Loren D at Nov 16, 2012 05:05 PM |

All of the hikers who write Trip Reports provide an incredible resource for Washington's outdoor community. Bob and Barb, a couple who hikes all over the state, recently filed their 100th Trip Report of 2012.

They're out there, on trail, almost every day of the year. They're hiking mountains, river bottoms and canyons, discovering the best in backcountry campspots, spotting the first huckleberries, larches and mushrooms. They tell us when the snow has finally melted out of the Enchantments and when it first begins to dust the peaks of the high country.

Whether they've contributed one or 50, all of the hikers who write Trip Reports provide an incredible resource for Washington's outdoor community, and for anyone who has ever used wta.org to look for a hike.

A few Trip Reporters have gone above and beyond in their service to the hiking community, and we'll be spotlighting a few of the year's best Trip Reporters in the coming weeks.

To start, we mark a milestone. Bob and Barb, a couple who hikes all over the state, recently filed their 100th Trip Report of 2012.What's more, they accomplished all that hiking while Bob worked as a practicing physician. (This September, after 46 years in his medical practice, Bob retired on the day after his 75th birthday.)

Look back on their incredible year of hiking through their excellent reports and great photos.Thank you Trip Reporters. Thank you, Bob and Barb.

Wow! That's impressive! Thanks Barb and Bob! Your trip reports have helped us pick some of our weekly hikes.
We met on the Kelly Butte trail last fall=)
I look forward to even more of your trip reports now that Bob is retired. Have fun!
