He's been to the summit of Rainier more than 170 times, and he's the author of Mount Rainier: A Climbing Guide. He's led mountaineering expeditions around the world, from Denali to Aconcagua.

"Gator," as Mike is commonly known, will be be giving what should be a fascinating lecture, "Mount Rainier Stories: The 2006 Flood, Major Rescues and Adventures on the Mountain," at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle on Thurs. Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10-15 and more info can be found here.
