Ever what your trail friends are up to when you're not around? These wildlife cams shed some light.

As hikers, we often get to catch small glimpses into the lives of wildlife—but with the help of wildlife cameras, we get a chance to see that wildlife in a new light. Take a peek at the cams below to get your daily dose of cute and to hopefully learn a little bit more about the animals around us.

Sleeping Beavers

The folks over at Tongass National Forest in Juneau, Alaska have set up a live cam inside the lodge of some resident beavers. If you want to see the most activity, check back an hour before sunrise and an hour before sunset in Juneau, Alaska.

Want to dig deeper into the lives of beavers? Author and environmental journalist Ben Goldfarb wrote an incredible exposé on the impact of beavers on our forests and streams, Eager: The Surprising, Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter. (And take a look at some local beavers he caught in action here!)

Fishing Bears

Ever run into a bear on trail? How about 25? Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, Alaska is one of the best places to watch these furry fishermen in action. Although Alaskan bear activity is past its peak for the season, you can catch highlights from their busy summer months below:

Need More cute?

Annie, sled dog extraordinaire, recently gave birth to a litter of seven healthy and adorable pups at Denali National Park. Park staff set up a live cam in the puppy den to help spread the joy. Although these future patrol pups aren't technically wildlife—they're definitely worth a watch.
