1-2-3 Hike-a-Thon!
Hike-a-Thon has officially begun, and it's not to late to register or sponsor.
It's August and WTA's 7th Annual Hike-a-Thon has officially begun!
So far, 105 hikers have signed up. They've been gathering sponsors and, now that it is August, they can start counting their miles.
Some folks, such as Holly Weiler, are planning to rack up big miles. Others, like Melissa Strauch, are using Hike-a-Thon as way to expose her young son to hiking - while raising money for WTA. Then there are veterans like Steve Payne, who plans to hike like a maniac and gather loads of sponsors.
The good news is that it's not too late for you to join them. All miles hiked and pledges gathered prior to August 31 will count toward your Hike-a-Thon totals.
So what's in it for you - besides the great excuse to go hiking and the fabulous WTA cause? As one Hike-a-Thoner recently put it on Facebook, there is a ton of
"swag." We're awarding prizes in 28 categories this year - starting with a box of Clif bars for anyone raising more than $100.
So what are you waiting for? Join the ranks of hikers supporting WTA by registering today. Or sponsor someone you know who is already doing Hike-a-Thon. You can find out much more about Hike-a-Thon here.
And for you Hike-a-Thoners out there - where did you hike on Sunday?
WTA's Hike-a-Thon is presented by Mountain Hardwear - Seattle Store.
