Wynoochee Falls will entice you to spend more time than you’d expect on a half-mile round-trip hike. The falls are pretty, and the pool at the bottom is nice for wading. There is a gravel bar that is perfect for picnics, and there are some good rock scrambling options.
The trail to the falls is wide, and there are occasional mounds of dirt that narrow the trail. For the young (or young at heart), these are fun to run up and down. The trail quickly arrives at the falls, where several social trails make their way down to the gravel bar at the base of the falls. Pick one that looks safe and will minimize erosion and make your way down to the falls.
When you’re done enjoying Wynoochee Falls, be sure to visit Maidenhair Falls. A few miles down the road, it’s accessible via another mile-long trail.
