Hiking Windy Pass - Mount Catherine Snowshoe

This snowshoe route to Windy Pass and Mount Catherine is part of the Snoqualmie Nordic Center trail system. You will need a sno-park pass to park and a trail ticket to use these trails.

Starting from the Hyak Sno-Park head out on Forest Road 9070, also called the Cold Creek Trail. Continue on this road for about 4.5 miles to Windy Pass given favorable avalanche conditions since the road does pass beneath steep slopes at times.

From Windy Pass you can carry on to Mount Catherine if you have the winter travel skills and avalanche awareness to navigate to the summit safely. You will have to leave the road here and follow the ridge east for about 1.5 miles to Mount Catherine.

If the summit is not your goal, turn around here and head back along the road to your car.
