The Wildside Trail runs through the northwest corner of Cougar Mountain Park and offers many connections to other trails.
From the trailhead, head straight on the Wildside Trail. At the junction with the Bagley Seam Trail, turn right, crossing a bridge over Coal Creek and shortly coming to another junction with the Rainbow Town Trail. Turn left here, go for about 50 feet, then turn right to reconnect with the Wildside Trail.
From here, head straight for a little under half a mile. You will arrive at a junction for Marshall’s Hill Trail. Stay straight for a short distance to the next junction, where you’ll want to turn right to stay on the Wildside Trail. This trail goes for another half a mile before ending at a junction with the De Leo Wall Trail.
The multitude of trails in this area can make navigating a challenge, but also create the opportunity for numerous loop trips. Go with a good map and you’ll be able to find your way and try out some new trails on your way back. Most trail junctions are also signed.
