Hike down the canyon to the White River and a historic hydroelectric power at White River Falls State Park. Located just east of Tygh Valley in Oregon, the park also has dramatic waterfalls, fishing, desert flowers in the spring and fiery colors in the fall.
Only a short walk from the parking lot, a viewing platform provides a dazzling view of the White River falls — also known as the Tygh Valley Falls — as it tumbles down the a 90-foot basalt shelf. For more wonderful watery displays, continue along the trail to find even more waterfalls and the power plant that supplied electricity to Wasco and Sherman Counties from 1910 to 1960.
