Hiking Waptus Pass

The Waptus Pass Trail connects Waptus River Trail and to the Pete Lake Trail, climbing steeply from both ends at Pete Lake and Waptus Lake to reach Waptus Pass. Waptus Pass is not a high alpine pass but a broad meadow with subalpine forest. Along the way to this junction, the trail passes junctions with the Escondido Lake Trail, Waptus Burn Trail, and Polallie Ridge Trail.

Hikers visiting this trail have dozens of options for hikes utilizing this and other trails in this area.
