Hiking Tronsen Loop Snowshoe

This winter route is part of the un-groomed Blewett Pass Sno-Park Non-Motorized Trail System, and is used for both snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The Tronsen Loop is not too steep, so it’s great for a family snowshoe. There are several more routes nearby for a longer or tougher snowshoe.

Be sure to check for potential avalanche danger before you head out.

Getting There

From Interstate 90, Exit 85 near Cle Elum, take State Route 970 toward Blewett Pass. At 10 miles, it joins (become) US 97. Continue on US 97 for an additional 14 miles to the Blewett Pass Sno-Park at the start of USFS Rd 9716. Continue for about another mile past the Sno-Park, and a small parking area and USFS Rd 7240 will be on the right.
