Hiking Taneum Ridge

The Taneum Ridge Trail extends for 12.1 miles, starting at Forest Road 3300 and ending at the Manastash Ridge Trail. This trail is open to off road vehicles so you are likely to encounter dirt bikes and other motorized vehicles, depending when you go hiking here. Consider going in the spring or fall to avoid a dusty hike.

From the trailhead at the eastern end of the trail, head off uphill to gain the low ridge then continue on. After about 2 miles cross Forest Road 3300, and in another 2 miles the trail crosses the same road again.

After this second crossing the road continues winding along the ridge for another 5.6 miles. The last half mile or so of this section descends down to a low point in the ridge where you’ll arrive at an intersection with the South Fork Taneum Trail.

The Taneum Ridge Trail continues on from here, climbing back up to the ridge and continuing on for another 2.3 miles until its end where it meets the Manastash Ridge Trail.
