Hiking Sunrise Rim Trail

The Sunrise Rim Trail is a short connector trail that links Sunrise with the Wonderland Trail, providing expansive views of Mount Rainier.

The trail itself is a slight descent to the junction with the Wonderland Trail. It's a great standalone hike if you're hoping for a stroll near Sunrise to get a little closer to the mountain.

This trail also ends up being a part of many hiker-made loops around the Sunrise area, as it offers an alternative to or from the west side of Sunrise to the popular Sourdough Ridge trail. If you'd like something just a tad little longer, Shadow Lake is only a short hike beyond the junction.
