Stairway to Heaven is a single track hiking and mountain biking trail in the foothills of Wenatchee. It climbs gently through fields of flowers and Ponderosa pine up to the summit of Twin Peaks. Enjoy views of the canyons and Wenatchee Valley down below.
From the trailhead, walk past the closed gate and watch for the trail on the right. Gentle switchbacks will take you up to the ridge through fields of balsamroot, lupine and paintbrush, crossing old jeep roads several times. You may find some respite from the sun under the ponderosa pines.
Continue hiking uphill. After 3.25 miles you may find a nice picnic spot overlooking the Wenatchee Valley. Turn around here or continue another 1.6 miles to the summit of Twin Peaks.
Watch your step in the rain, the clay/dirt trail can be quite slick when wet and be sure to take plenty of water for yourself and your four-legged friends.
