Escape the hustle and bustle of nearby Wynoochee Lake by trekking down to the lesser-known Spoon Creek Falls. This short and sweet hike will reward you with both impressive waterfall views, and a calm (yet cold) wading pool to dip your toes.
The trail to the falls descends quickly, dropping 200 feet in under half a mile, but is manageable for the entire family. Though you may be inclined to rush down to the water, be sure to stop at one of the trail's several established lookouts to enjoy unique views of the falls and river below.
If Spoon Creek leaves you craving even more waterfall views, head for Wynoochee and Maidenhair Falls, just 10 miles north along the lake.
