The Snowall Cradle Lake trail is part of a loop winds through mountains and valleys filled with spectacular meadows and great views of the surrounding peaks. At the head of the valley, the trail climbs to small but lovely Cradle Lake which is one of the best spots to camp on the loop.
Depart from the trailhead. The first section of your hike is along the French Creek Trail, following Snowall Creek enroute to a divide of Sixty Six Hundred Ridge, gaining 3000 vertical along your way. Then it descends to Cradle Lake and beyond to a junction with the Blackjack Ridge Trail before descending to the junction with Meadow Creek Trail.
Overall, the route has a moderate grade with some muddy sections from French Creek, and a steep grade leading to Meadow Creek.
