Sherlock Peak is tucked away in the Colville National Forest, where you can see the Columbia River and the Pend Oreille Valley from the open summit. The wooded trail to the summit can be steep, and it is quite rugged.
Huckleberries line the trail, and their vibrant red begin to show when temperatures dip in the fall.
This is a wild, quiet, woodsy ramble, with options to connect to the Silver Creek Trail as well as Gunsight Pass.

Getting There
From Colville, drive north on county road 9435 for 23 miles. At a 'V' in the road, take the right branch. This is county road 9445, which you will follow to Leadpoint. Turn right onto FR 4720 just after crossing Silver Creek. Follow this road to a 'V' junction with Road 070. This will be the second major 'V' junction. Take the right road, which is 075, and follow road 075 to the trailhead.
