This snowshoe route follows snow-covered forest roads to Camp Lake in the Teanaway Community Forest. The Teanaway Sno-Park is a hub for snowmobiles, but this route offers some solitude for hikers and snowshoers since it does not follow one of the nearby groomed snowmobile trails.
Starting from the Teanaway Sno-Park head to the end of the North Fork Teanaway road, where the way forks. Stay left at the fork to continue on Forest Road 9701. In less than half a mile the road crosses the North Fork Teanaway River on a bridge, then arrives at the first junction with a road heading off to the left. Turn left here, go about 100 feet, pass through a gate, then turn left again.
You are now on the main road that leads to Camp Lake. After about 0.8 mile the road curves to the right and follows the course of Rye Creek for another 1.5 miles to Camp Lake. The lake makes a good turnaround point, but the road does keep going for those wanting to add more miles.
