Hiking Riverfront Trail

A blacktop trail with some gravel and dirt sections that meanders along The Columbia River in the City of Richland. Start or end at Columbia Point Marina Park at the south end or USS Triton Submarine Memorial Park in the north. The trail is seven miles in length with many benches along the way to stop and take a breather and soak up the beauty of the fast moving Columbia.

Enjoy this flat route for the entire seven miles it rolls along beside the Columbia, or simply take in a small section. It's a delightful walk for most of the year, though in the height of summer temperatures can reach triple digits, so try and save your exercise for early morning or late at night in weather like that.

Regardless of temperature, there is minimal shade along the trail so take a hat, plenty of water and sun screen. There are many places to exit the trail into town to a store but if you want to hike the whole thing only one way then you will need two cars. One can park at Columbia Point Marina Park and the other at The USS Triton Memorial or the hike will be fourteen miles round-trip. The views of the Columbia River are fantastic and can be seen the whole seven miles along the trail.
