Hiking Puget Power

This broad, exposed trail is one of the best ways to get your sun on Tiger Mountain. Start from either the High Point Trailhead or the trailhead just off Sunset Way in Issaquah. You will have nice hike in either direction of over a mile.

Options for loops abound, with branches to the Big Tree Trail, the Brink Trail, Adventure Trail, Wetlands Trail, Around the Lake Trail, and the Swamp Trail. Any of these offer plenty of sights and sounds of the stately Tiger Mountain forest, and nearly all of them are kid-friendly.

Take a picnic and make it a full day, or simply head out for a jaunt after work.

Getting There

From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 20 (High Point). At the end of the off ramp, turn right onto the frontage road paralleling the interstate. In just under 0.5 mile the road ends at a gate. The gate opens daily, though it is closed and locked at 7:00 PM. Park outside the gate if you'll be returning late in the day. Otherwise, continue another 0.4 mile to the trailhead.
