Hiking Primrose Overlook

Primrose Overlook is a little-traveled, short hike offering some impressive trees and lovely territorial views.  Out of the trailhead, you are on Little Creek Trail (N11).  Soon Little Creek forks; turn left onto Primrose Overlook.  Primrose continues fairly steeply downhill, ending in a small loop above Lakemont Blvd SE (which is visible through the trees in the distance).

This little hike is great for kids or a new place to bring your leashed dog.  If it's hot, bring insect repellent because there is a stagnant water retention pond near the trailhead.  Primrose's 163rd Place SE trailhead is a good alternative for accessing western, lower-elevation Cougar trails when surrounding trail lots are full.

Getting There

From I-90, take Exit 13 and drive south on Lakemont Blvd SE. Turn left at SE Cougar Mountain Way then right 163rd Place SE. Travel south until 163rd ends in a cul-de-sac.

The trailhead is hidden down a gravel utility access road between two houses, so please park respectfully, as this is a neighborhood. If there is no room at the trailhead, consider leaving this adventure for another day.
