Hiking Penrose Point State Park

Found on the shores of Puget Sound is the marine and camping Penrose Point State Park. The park consists of 237 acres and nearly two miles of shoreline, including Mayo Cove and Carr Inlet.

There are two and a half miles of hiking trails, as well as a self-guided interpretive trail named A Touch of Nature. This 0.2 mile trail was built by Eagle Scouts in 1982 and renovated in 1991 by another troop of Eagle Scouts.

During low tide, clams and oysters can be found as well as crabs and starfish. Explore the forested trails to find red alder and cedar trees, Pacific madrone, ferns, trillium, big-leaf maple and huckleberries.
