Hiking Paradise

Paradise provides a gateway to Washington's most iconic mountain, trails to get your heart pumping or just stretch your legs, and in winter, fantastic snowshoe and skiing opportunities for people of all ages. 

Year-round, the area around the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center is wonderful for families with beginning hikers or little ones still being carried. Paved trails and generous, wide stone steps make navigating the area easy, and a sweet little bridge just west of the Visitors Center makes a great destination for a short hike. 

In winter, it's also a great place for snow play, whether you just want to build a snowman or get a day trip on snowshoes under your belt.

Getting There

From the east, take Highway 123 to Stevens Canyon Road (Note that this road is closed in the winter). 19 miles from the turnoff, turn right onto Paradise Road East. Continue two miles to the Paradise Visitors Center.
