Hiking Mount Ann

Part of the Mount Baker Wilderness, Mount Ann is situated southwest of Mount Shuksan, just outside of the North Cascades National Park.

The usual winter route leaves the trail around the Lake Ann junction and ascends the ridge just west of Annette Peak, but be prepared -- unpredictable weather can make snow unstable. Have your map and reassess your situation regularly.

On the way up, enjoy views of Mount Ann, Mount Shuskan and Mount Baker, and at the summit, take a moment to catch your breath surrounded by the peaks of the North Cascades and Canada.
