Hiking Monument Park

Hike down to a small beach in Point Roberts. In spite of being a 10-minute hike, the forest is well-stocked with huge trees and plenty of birds.

Monument Park is located at the northwest corner of Point Roberts, where visitors will also find a notable obelisk -- Border Marker Number One -- the westernmost marker of the border between the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to the grassy area around the obelisk, Monument Park also encompasses forests and a hiking trail down a gently graded trail to beachfront wandering.

On the trail, enjoy switchbacking through austere trees to a beach. When the tide is out, it is possible to walk south of Monument Park, enjoying the dramatic coastline in this area.
