Hiking Military Ridge

The Military Ridge Trail is part of the vast Cougar Mountain trail network. The trail is a connector trail, so it can only be reached via other trails in the area and does not have its own trailhead.

The trail is about a half-mile long and connects through the forest between the Big Tree Ridge Trail and Harvey Manning Park at Talus. The main access for this trail is via the Big Tree Ridge Trail.

Getting There

To reach the Big Tree Ridge Trailhead head east on I-90 from Seattle, and take exit 13. Stay right and continue off the exit for 0.4 mile. Turn right onto Lakemont Blvd for a few hundred feet then turn left onto SE Newport Way for 1.9 miles before arriving at the parking area on your right. Parking for about 10 cars.  

Take Transit: 

The Issaquah Transit Center is located on 17 Ave NW and Newport Way, which is 0.6 mile away from the Big Tree Ridge Trailhead.
