Hiking Lena Lake - Valley of Silent Men Snowshoe

A quiet hike through a still old-growth forested gully near Lena Lake.

Several bridges span East Fork Lena Creek multiple times and leads to a campground typically used as a basecamp when climbing The Brothers.

The trail is rugged in points and the creek is potentially impassible, depending on water flow out of East Fork Lena Creek and Lena Creek.

It can also be hiked as a relatively safe snowshoe in the wintertime.

The section of trail is part of the The Brothers Trail (#821).

Getting There

From Hoodsport, drive travel north on Hwy 101 for 14 miles. Make a left onto Hamma Hamma River Road at milepost 318. Continue for 7.5 paved miles to the trailhead, which can accommodate about 30 cars. A privy is available at the trailhead. Keep in mind that the parking flanks an active road, so if you must park across the road from the trailhead, look both ways before crossing!
