Hiking Key Central Forest

Key Central Forest is 480 acres. It’s large but gets relatively little use. There are two main entrances that are connected by an old access road which now functions as the main trail. Three loop trails split off from this to explore other regions of the forest.

The trails vary in width from access roads to single track and a bridge crosses over the salmon-spawning Vaughn creek in the center of the forest. Check out a map from Key Pen Parks to plan your hike.

WTA Pro Tip: Save a copy of our directions before you leave! App-based driving directions aren't always accurate and data connections may be unreliable as you drive to the trailhead.

Getting There

The recommended entrance is the one off of Wright Bliss Road. From Purdy, head west on WA-302 for 8.4 miles, then turn left onto Wright Bliss Road for 1.0 mile. You will then arrive at the trailhead on the left. Park in the gravel pullout, but please don’t block the gate.
