In the fast growing area of north Spokane, this natural area on the banks of the Little Spokane River is a welcome escape. A couple different loop trails circle through the ponderosa forest in the uplands, and a spur trail splits off to head down to the river. There is about a half mile of shoreline to explore.
This variety of habitat is sure to keep visitors busy exploring and looking out for wildlife. There is a parcel of private property within the park, so be sure to bring a map and respect these boundaries.

Getting There
From downtown Spokane, head north on Division St. for about 6.5 miles, then take a slight right onto Highway 2. After 3.5 miles on Highway 2, turn right onto E. Farwell road. Take the first left onto Shady Slope Drive for 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Leona St, which will end at the parking area where there is space for about a dozen cars.
