Gray Peak

A scramble to a remote peak in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Climbing experience and technical equipment recommended.

Use the Oval Lakes trail for the approach. You'll follow Eagle Creek Trail for 1.9 miles where both trails enter Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. After crossing Eagle Creek, take the left fork onto the Oval Creek Trail.

Oval Creek Trail continues southwest and climbs to West Oval Lake and links to Oval Lakes Trail which leads east to Middle Oval Lake. Rather than proceeding to Middle Oval Lake, head west to Oval Pass where you can walk the ridge to the summit.

After ascending to Oval Pass, walk along to open ridge line to the summit. Wonderful views of nearby Oval Peak to the east and much further Glacier Peak to the west present themselves for your enjoyment.
