Hiking Freds Mountain

Reaching the summit of Freds Mountain requires off trail scrambling, so experience and preparation is recommended. It can be reached by scrambling along the ridge from Peepsight Mountain. One way to get there is to start at the Andrews Creek trailhead.

Getting There

To Andrews Creek trailhead: From Winthrop travel on State Route 20 turning right onto Okanogan Country Road 1213 (West Chewuch Road). Drive 6 miles where county road joins with Forest Service Road 51. Drive for 22 miles to the end of the paved road then turn right for parking at the Andrews Creek Trailhead (some parking to the left).
