This city park provides an excellent retreat from the busy area of Vancouver and Portland in the small suburb of Camas.
There are numerous trails to be explored, including one that encompasses the lake, beginning from the south side. Connect to it using the popular Lacamas Heritage Trail or the Round Lake trail.
In keeping with the parks in and around Vancouver, there are varied pine trees, as well as a fair amount of ivy, ferns, and other ground cover. Blackberries abound, and wildlife flits about as well. Look for geese, ducks, large turtles, fish, frogs, squirrels, rabbits, deer and blue heron at the lake or on the trails.
In addition to hiking, it's also possible to reserve the facilities in the park from the Camas Parks and Recreation office.
