The East Side Road is an access road on Tiger Mountain that is closed to vehicle traffic and open to hikers. The road roughly parallels the eastern boundary of Tiger Mountain and connects with several other trails.
From the West Tiger Mountain Parking Lot, find the road by locating the trailhead kiosk and taking the road heading off to the right. You’ll reach another fork in a few hundred feet. Stay right here and walk for a little over a mile, paralleling Highway 18, until you reach another junction. This is just a short spur to the highway. Stay straight and in about half a mile the road will curve to the left and leave the highway noise behind.
Over the next 4.5 miles, the road meanders through the forest, mirroring the eastern boundary of the park, connecting with several trails including The Legend, Easy Tiger, Silent Swamp and Preston Railroad Grade.
Carry a map if you go hiking here since the multitude of roads and trails can get confusing.
