Hiking County Line

The County Line Trail is a multi-use trail bordering Kittitas and Chelan Counties, connecting the Teanaway Ridge trail and to Miller Peak.

The official trailhead is quite small and hard to get to, but the upper section is usually utilized to allow hikers to complete a loop that includes Miller Peak and the Iron Bear overlook by starting at either Iron Bear - Teanaway RidgeTeanaway Ridge, or Miller Peak trailheads.

Another section of the County Line Trail (1226.1) is found further west. It leaves from the Beverly Turnpike trail and a connection to Navaho Pass can be made, but the second half of the trail is difficult to follow.

Consult a map when planning your outing.

WTA Pro Tip: Save a copy of our directions before you leave! App-based driving directions aren't always accurate and data connections may be unreliable as you drive to the trailhead.

Getting There

To find the official trailhead take FS 9715 off of Hwy 97 to Old Blewett Pass.   Turn left on Road 200 which is rough but doable and shortly come to a Y.  Go left a quarter mile and come to two hard rights one after the other and take the second.  You could go straight and the arrow and road sign 1226 look to be pointing that way but don't fall for it.  About another half mile the road starts descending and a spur will appear on the left.  There's shoulder parking for one or two cars.  This short spur connects to 9714-113 (not signed).  Go right and follow it all the way to the end.
