The Constance Pass Trail climbs from the Dosewallips River, over the pass and on to the border between Olympic National Park and the Buckhorn Wilderness in Olympic National Forest where it continues on with a new name, the Home Lake Trail.
The pass can be reached from the south via the Dosewallips river valley (the most direct route) and from the north via either the Upper Dungeness or Big Quilcene valleys. Because of its central location the pass is a popular connection on backpacking trips in the area.
Official backcountry campgrounds are located at Sunnybrook Meadows (west of the pass) and Home Lake (northeast of the pass). You must obtain a wilderness camping permit from the National Park to stay overnight at either of these locations.
