The Chilliwack River Trail is an important part of the Copper Ridge Loop, and is also part of the traverse between Hannegan Pass and Ross Lake via a connection with the Little Beaver Trail.
The Chilliwack River Trail starts at the Hannegan Pass Trailhead. After about 5 miles on the Hannegan Pass Trail you’ll arrive at the National Park Boundary where the trail forks. Stay right for the official start of the Chilliwack River Trail.
From here the trail parallels the river on its downhill course. After another 5 miles the trail arrives at the Chilliwack River crossing. There’s no bridge here, but rather a cable car. Hop in, noting the 500 pound maximum weight limit and pull yourself across using the rope above your head.
A little under a mile farther and you’ll arrive at the junction with the Brush Creek Trail, which connects all the way to Ross Lake. Carry on for another 3.3 miles along the relatively flat Chilliwack River Valley to the junction with the Copper Ridge Trail, which completes the Copper Ridge Loop. Another 1.7 miles and you’ll arrive at the end of the Chilliwack River Trail.
