Hiking Cameron Pass

The Cameron Pass trail is a brushy bushwhack to a lovely high alpine basin and pass. But it's miles in the backcountry and requires hard work and planning to get there.

You'll arrive at the Cameron Pass trail either via the Cameron Creek Trail or Grand Pass trail. From this junction, head uphill through brushy overgrowth and across a meadow laced with streams and creeks. Soon after crossing this meadow, pop out into Cameron Basin. A shy mile from the entrance to the basin is the base of the trail up to Cameron Pass proper.

The pass trail can be a little dicey when snow is present. Use caution as you ascend to the views at the top. From there, you can drop down over the other side towards Lost Pass or back towards the campsites at Cameron Basin (permits required).
