Hiking Cabin Creek Snowshoe

Popular primarily as a cross-country skiing location, Cabin Creek Sno-Park requires the Groomed Trails Sno-Park permit for users to park here. But if you're savvy about sharing the trail, and OK with the slightly more expensive sno-park permit, The South Loop is a nice snowshoe option. The trail starts across from the parking lot close near the freeway off ramp; a small blue sign marks the trailhead.

Beginning on the groomed trail, take a spur trail to the top of the hill about a quarter mile in. Climbing 200 feet, you'll arrive at a view between trees. Head back down to the trail, rejoin the groomed route, leaving plenty of space for skiers, and staying out of the ski tracks. The route continues around the hill and arrives back at the road where it's a short walk back to the parking lot. Visitors will enjoy a nice view of the Yakima River along the way.
