On the Washington-Idaho border sits Buffalo Eddy, a site where the Nez Perce left their mark a la petroglyphs carved into the rock next to the Snake River. Getting There

From Pullman, head south on US-195, and continue for 21 miles before merging onto US-95. Continue south for another 6.3 miles, then merge onto US-12 W toward Lewiston/Walla Walla. Continue for 1.5 miles, crossing the Memorial Bridge along the way.

Take a slight left onto 21st Street. In about a mile, turn right onto Southway Avenue and continue for 1.7 miles. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Snake River Avenue and turn right onto the Southway Bridge. At the next roundabout, take the third exit, and then at the immediate next roundabout, take the second exit to stay on 5th Street, which will turn into Riverside Drive.

Stay on this road as it becomes 1st Street, then Wilson Street and then Snake River Road for about 19 miles. The pullout for parking will be on the left. The parking area is small and can fit a few cars.
