Get a taste for the south slopes of Mount Adams area when the snow is still in the high country on this eight mile loop combining the Buck Creek Trail, Morrison Creek Trail, and Wicky Creek Trail.
Beginning from the Lower Buck Creek Trailhead, enjoy a moderately graded trail that parallels the churning White Salmon River. The trail is high above the river gorge, offering occasional views of the White Salmon River.
Most of the area is rocky and heavily forested, including old-growth Ponderosa pine trees, as well as aspen, which are colorful in the fall. The trail's rolling grades and sturdy bridges help you make three stream crossings.
After 2.4 miles, arrive at the Morrison Creek Trail, which accesses the Mount Adams Wilderness. Jump onto the Morrison Creek Trail, which is open to hikers, bikers and equestrian use. In addition to being a connector between Crofton Butte Trail 73 and Gotchen Creek Trail 40, Morrison Creek allows for multiple loops, including this one.
After about five miles of forested walking on the Morrison Creek trail, arrive at the junction with the Wicky Creek Trail. The 2.7 mile trail heads north to and at it's junction with Morrison Creek Trail #39 just east of Wicky Shelter Trail #39A.
