This route has not been cleared past the Chancellor Trail's intersection with Boulder Creek trail. The route is impassable to stock and may be difficult for hikers.
The Boulder Creek Trail starts 5 miles up Chancellor Trail. It switchbacks, then begins to traverse across high mountain environments. There are nice views to be had, and many small creeks to crossed.
Starting from East Creek, take East Creek trail for 4 miles to a sign that reads: "Granite Creek 4, Mebee Pass 4". Take trail up here a half-mile to the Gold Hill Mine, and then the trail to Boulder Creek Pass begins 50 feet from an old building on the left. Note that washouts here make the way difficult for hikers and impossible for stock.
