This sweet little trail on the Kitsap Peninsula makes a wonderful winter hike when the high country is snowed in.
Less than two miles round trip, the Big Tree Trail ventures through old growth, over a creek, down a few switchbacks and finally to a huge Douglas Fir over 30 feet in circumference.
It's a great spot for little kids or grown hikers looking for a new place to explore.
