Berthusen Park offers up plenty of great opportunities to get outdoors and explore. This beautiful park, the site of a homestead from the late 1800s, has antique farm machinery, a historical cabin, a big red barn and a great playground with a wonderful swing set for kids.
There are several great trails for you to check out. Try the Eagle Loop and the Wonder Trail, which weaves through old-growth (wonderous indeed!)
Eagle Loop will also give you views of Bertrand Creek, evidence of a downy woodpecker, flowers like Indian Plum, maybe even a glimpse of great horned owls!
It's a good destination for children to get a peek at history, both natural and human.
