The most straightforward access to Bean Peak is from Bean Creek Basin. Once in the basin at 5600 feet elevation, continue on the boot trail to the north as it climbs toward the ridgecrest on the east side of Bean Peak. The climb gradually steepens as it leaves the basin and the tread transitions to gravel/sand on the upper part, hiking poles are helpful. At the ridge crest a boot trail continues to the west through the rocks, turning into a scramble for the last 200 feet, not for the inexperienced.
Once on top enjoy the views in all directions, Mount Rainier to the southwest, Ingalls Peak to the west, Mt. Stuart to the northwest, Navaho Peak to the east, and many many more.
For those that are curious, the boot trail that goes east from the ridgecrest is part of a 1.5 mile trail/scramble route to Earl Peak.
Note: The distance and elevation listed here are from Bean Creek Basin, not the Beverly Trailhead.
